I am involved in two events at the City Art Centr

I am involved in two events at the City Art Centre, Edinburgh as part of the ‘Through Lines’ exhibition in which I am showing work.
- I am giving a talk: ‘Two Ways of Drawing’ - Friday 31st January 2025 at 2.00pm.
The talk explores two very different strands of my drawing practice
I create descriptive drawings in sketchbooks to generate new ideas and also to convey to others how the sculpture will look and how it is to be made. In recent years I have had to involve many people such as engineers and contractors in the making of work.
My other drawings are large abstract and expressive, realised in layers of pencil wax and gouache, through which I communicate often intuitive ideas about the universe. They are more about energy than any particular subject matter - the invisible, the organic forces of growth, forces which drive the winds and currents, the energies within and beyond the earth.

- Friday 7th February 2025, 2.00 pm. City Art Centre. All taking part are showing work in the exhibition. This is a unique opportunity to hear these artists talk about their work, their commonalities and differences in using line within their practice.
